This high quality of sound is made possible because of the most critical and essential component: the power supply. It provides to the system a clean, noise-free, efficient, and dependable power source and isolates any outside interference. By 1982, Lead Year had accumulated enough substantial experience with power supply design that it became logical to launch its own power supply business. Today, Lead Year continues its commitment and focus to designing and manufacturing quality power supplies for various products. 1972 Established as a trading company   Traded audio IC's & transistors 1974 Developed Hi-Fi pre-amplifiers & AM-FM tuners 1982 Developed PC power supplies 1986 Standardized PC power supply form factor (Known as PS/2, this standard became the basis of future form factors.) 1991 Established Malaysia manufacturing facilities (Smart Industries) 1994 Began manufacturing in China via sub-contractors 1995 Smart Industries: ISO-9002 1998 HQ: ISO-9001   Set up new BU to take over PC power thus allowing HQ to concentrate on non-PC power   Established the China manufacturing facility (Amax Electronics Co.) 1999 Amax: ISO-9002   POS power becomes 2nd largest product group 2000 Began manufacturing high power systems for telecommunication equipment   All facilities: ISO-9001:2000
