According to the Dodd- Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act passed on August 2012 in USA, all public traded companies are required to file with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) to disclose whether their products contain “conflict minerals”.
“Conflict minerals” refers to minerals which tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold, (or “3TG”) are derived from that originate from The Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries, and 3TG are essentiali the manufacture of electronic devices.The mining and trading of these minerals have financed or benefited armed groups that cause serious conflicts, rampant acts such as massacre an d other human rights violation in these areas.
As a part of the global electronics industry supply chain, we support sourcing of conflict-free minerals. We are committed to work toward the elimination of materials from conflict countries or from non-CFSI-compliant smelters. We request our suppliers to likewise support this initiatives to perform due diligence, complete “CFSI Conflict Minerals Reporting Template”, verify the source of tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold used in your products and provide smelter information. At the same time, please pass non-conflict minerals information to your suppliers in order to support these efforts.
